Q: Why can't I log in with my personal Instagram account?
A: instaLive Wallpaper uses Instagram Business Login, which only works with Instagram Business or Creator accounts. You need to convert your personal account to a Business or Creator account in the Instagram mobile app (Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account).
Q: How do I connect my Instagram account?
A: Click "Login" in the app and authorize instaLive Wallpaper to access your Instagram Business account. You'll be redirected to Instagram's login page where you can safely enter your credentials. Follow the on-screen instructions until you are redirected back to the app.
Q: What permissions does the app need?
A: The app requests permission to read your Instagram media (photos and videos) and manage comments. This allows the app to display your photos as wallpapers and let you reply to comments.
Q: Can I reply to comments from the app?
A: Yes! Click on any photo to view its details, then click the "Reply" button next to any comment to respond directly from your desktop.
Q: Will the app post photos to my Instagram?
A: No. The app only reads and displays your existing Instagram photos. It does not upload or post new content to Instagram.
Q: Is my data secure?
A: Yes. All your data is stored locally on your Mac. The app only communicates directly with Instagram's official API and does not share your data with any third parties.
Q: How do I change the wallpaper layout?
A: Use the app's menu to select different collage styles, frames, and layouts. You can also apply photo filters for color enhancement and effects.
Q: Can I use photos from my local disk?
A: Yes! The app includes an option to display images from local folders, perfect for events or custom wallpapers.
Q: How do I use the app for events?
A: Set up a specific Instagram hashtag for your event, then use the app's hashtag browsing feature to display all photos with that tag. Connect to a projector to show real-time updates to your guests!
Q: The app isn't showing my latest photos. What should I do?
A: Try refreshing the feed using the refresh button in the app menu. Make sure you have an active internet connection and are still logged in to your Instagram account.

Troubleshooting

Login Issues
  • Ensure you're using an Instagram Business or Creator account

  • Try logging out and logging in again
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
Photos Not Loading
  • Verify your internet connection is active
  • Check that you're still logged in to Instagram
  • Restart the application

  • Verify you have permission to reply to comments on that post
